There are many dive spots in Phuket which can suit your preference and taste for scuba diving. When diving in Phuket, you can choose various dive types which may somehow be difficult to choose especially that you have only one day to enjoy. So we’ll try to help you make up your mind on the best choices covering the various styles of dive spots:

Clear Water

We will miss out the southern part of Racha Noi from the wonderful dive lists as we can’t justify its inclusion. So I choose the stunning Rock at Racha Noi to expect 20 meters of visibility with wondrous wildlife and geography. Another attraction is the Similan Islands with its large granite boulders running into the deep, making it a great spot for diving in Phuket islands. You can also see an abundance of staghorn coral gardens. This is also the best day trip location for mantra ray sightings, so be ready to wear your lucky swimsuit for diving.

Macro Diving

If you are out diving in Phuket to see a variety of species, Koh Doc Mai is clearly the location with great visibility. You’ll be wondering the walls of the ocean with crevices and cracks to find weird and impressive species. Here, you’ll find ornate ghost pipefishes, jann’s pipefishes, seahorses, shrimps and other species of nudi only found in Phuket.

The Extreme All Rounder

Koh Phi Phi and Bida Nok is one dive spot never to miss. You’ll find a calm bay, sandy slopes, steep walls, amazing coral gardens and many rock formations from the major parts of the island. These make great environment to attract a large variety of species, hawksbill turtles, blacktip reef sharks and leopard sharks all found at the Koh Bida Nok. It also has a large school of juvenile barracuda and snappers accumulated outside the bay and are firmly penetrated by groups of golden and Bluefin carangidae. There is also the tigertail seahorses, ornate ghost pipefish, harlequin shrimps and whale sharks to see. In the Koh Bida Nok are a variety of coral gardens which make it a great spot for diving in Phuket, Thailand.
