Design For The New Suzuki GSX-R300 Revealed

Reports are spreading regarding the design of a soon-to-be Suzuki motorcycle for sale, a full faired sports bike dubbed  GSX-R300, the international manufacturing company’s attempt to gain a foothold on the full faired sports segment.

The patent images of the concept, which showed the motorbike’s current design, was leaked on the web, thanks to UK motorcycle insurance firm, Bennetts. The new patent images show a design akin to the GSX-250. The current GSX-250R is based on Suzuki’s Inazuma platform, an ageing design mold from the manufacturer, and has been facing heavy competition from the Yamaha YZF-R3, the KTM RC390 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300. When this motorbike comes out, it’ll arrive in the full faired sportsbike segment, acting as the replacement for the GSX-250R, which many saw as a disappointment for a Suzuki motorcycle for sale, falling behind the competition.

The patent images doesn’t fully reveal the front end of the bike, but from what can be seen, the bike resembles the smaller GSX-R125, which is a Suzuki motorcycle for sale available in various international markets.  In particular, the fuel tank and seating greatly resembles the smaller GSX-R125.

Powering the GSX-250R was an under square twin-cylinder engine, with a maximum power output of 24 bhp, with a torque output of 23 Nm, which was considered subpar; behind the standard set by its competition. The concept for the GSX-R300 features a liquid-cooled engine with a four-valve head, with an air intake positioned higher, closer to the underside of the fuel tank. The details on the engine weren’t finalized, but the new engine is expected to be oversquare, similar to the other engines in the GSX-R lineup, which is capable of creating greater horsepower.

Other design elements seen at the patent are the inverted front forks and the front disc brake that’s mounted radially. Another new addition is a tubular frame that uses the bike’s motor as a stressed member.

The new bike is expected to become a Suzuki motorcycle for sale by 2019, set to compete with the Yamaha R3, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the Benelli 302R. Apart from the GSX-R300, Suzuki is also expected to release the naked version, the GSX-S300. Earlier in 2018, one of Suzuki’s manufacturing partners released the patent for a 300cc sport naked bike, and many are saying that the GSX-S300 is this bike.
